My story is one of resilience amidst unimaginable hardship—losing my Best Friend/ brother to a police shooting, suffering a severe head injury, and enduring the heartache of being separated from my children for 15 years.

Losing My Brother

The loss of my brother was a turning point in my life. He was more than just family; he was a constant companion and source of strength. When he was shot by police, it felt like the ground beneath me shattered. The grief was overwhelming, and the unanswered questions about justice and fairness weighed heavily on my heart. This tragedy left an indelible mark on my soul, shaping my understanding of loss and the fragility of life.

The Injury That Changed Everything-

Not long after losing my brother, I suffered a severe head injury. The physical pain was immense, but the emotional and psychological impact was even greater. Recovering from such an injury required immense courage and determination. It altered my daily life, my abilities, and my perspective. In prison thirteen Years Away from My Children –

the most heart-wrenching chapter of my life has been the 15 years spent away from my children. Separation from loved ones is a profound form of suffering, especially when it involves one’s own children. The pain of missing their milestones, the silent phone calls, and the empty spaces in my life have been constant reminders of what was lost. Yet, despite the distance and time, my love for them has never wavered.
